Tourists may soon be seeing Pembrokeshire by pedalling a three-seater cyclemobile around the countys rural by-ways.
The Wales Tourist Board have had an Inquiry about, hiring the unusual machine for German visitors who were to have been taken on coach tours, but the coaches were rather wide for some of the roads.
The colourful vehicle has four wheels and a sun canopy to provide
shade-for the riders on hot, sunny days.
The Italian-made cyclemobile, equipped with hom and bell and dynamo-powered lights, can be pedalled by either one or two of its occupants, while the third operates the centrally-mounted tiller steering.
West Wales cycle hire proprietor Mr. Jim Codd. of Broadmoor Garage, Cross Inn, near Kilgetty. originally
bought it us a tourist gimmic. It has proved a lasting novelty for locals and holidaymakers alike.
The local vicar, the Rev David Faulkner, has already tried It out, and so have several Pembrokeshire police
officers.
It was also recently hired, at 50p per hour, by two young village team footballers, anxious to get to a training session at Carew, about five miles away.
