This evocative photograph captures the charming facade of the Station Tavern in Walworth, London, a beloved local pub that once stood at the corner of Walworth Road and Newington Causeway (SE5 0NS). The image, taken in an era before digital technology, showcases the pub's distinctive red brick exterior, adorned with ornate white detailing and the familiar sign of the Station Tavern. The pub, which was owned by Hoare & Company Limited, was a cherished watering hole for the community, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for locals to gather and socialize. The back of this print reveals the pub's rich history, with trading records dating back to 1934 and 1961. Sadly, the Station Tavern, like so many historic pubs, was no longer able to withstand the march of progress and was demolished in July 2018.
