EDITORS COMMENTS

Great print capturing the 1983/84 squad of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, a team that left an indelible mark on the history of English football during the 70s, 80s, and beyond. In the back row, we see the faces of experienced defenders and goalkeepers, including Peter Daniel, Alan Dodd, John Humphrey, Paul Bradshaw, John Burridge, John Pender, Hugh Atkinson, Mick Bennett, and coaches Jim Barron and Mick Matthews. Moving to the middle row, we find some of the team's most iconic players, such as Dale Rudge, Tony Towner, Mel Eves, Billy Kellock, Andy Gray, Kenny Hibbitt, and Wayne Clarke. These players were instrumental in leading the team to success, with Gray and Hibbitt being key figures in the team's attack, and Kellock and Humphrey providing solidity at the back. At the front, we have manager Graham Hawkins, who led the team during this period, and several other important players, including Bob Coy, Paul Butler, Geoff Palmer, Ian Cartwright, Billy Livingstone, and Gordon Smith. This squad was a part of the Wolves team that finished 3rd in the First Division during the 1983/84 season, just missing out on the title. They also reached the FA Cup Final that year, losing to Everton in a closely contested match. Despite the disappointment of that loss, the team's performances during this period helped establish them as a force to be reckoned with in English football. Overall, this print is a reminder of a golden era in Wolves' history, a time when the team was known for its attacking flair, solid defense, and team spirit. It's a snapshot of a team that brought joy and excitement to fans, both on the pitch and off it.
