An Andean Condor, the largest bird of prey and the largest flying bird in the world, flies over a garbage landfill in search of food, in Til-Til, some 60 km (37 miles) north of Santiago, August 26, 2007. Ornithologists from the Chilean-Argentine Binational Program for the Conservation of the Andean Condor (PBCCA) have begun a program to provide carrion for the condors at higher altitudes, closer to their natural habitat, to stop the birds from using the dump as their main source of scavenged food.
