Entrance way designed in the classical style with a recumbent dog on the entrance mat and a clock tower on the left. The clock tower belonged to an important tin smelting works which operated throughout most of the 18th and 19th centuries before closing in 1891. Calenick House stood witness to these bustling times when ingots of white tin were shipped from nearby Truro after being refined within these walls.
