EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back in time to the enchanting Pencalenick estate, nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of Kiggon, St Clements in Cornwall. Dating back to around 1900, this image captures a moment frozen in history - The Devils Arch Bridge at Pencalenick. The bridge itself stands as an architectural marvel, gracefully spanning over a gentle stream that meanders through the estate's grounds. Its arched structure exudes an air of mystery and intrigue, earning it its ominous name. This very path over the bridge was once the main driveway leading visitors into the heart of Pencalenick. As we gaze upon this photograph captured by an unknown photographer, we are transported to a bygone era where horse-drawn carriages would have traversed this very route. The surrounding landscape showcases nature's beauty at its finest - lush greenery embracing both sides of the pathway while tall trees stand sentinel-like along its edges. Though much has changed since this snapshot was taken more than a century ago, one thing remains constant: Cornwall's timeless allure. This print serves as a window into our region's rich heritage and invites us to imagine ourselves walking alongside those who came before us on their way to explore all that Pencalenick had to offer
