EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to the year 1971, capturing the timeless beauty of St Juliot Vicarage in St Juliot, near Boscastle, Cornwall. The image showcases the rear view of this Grade II listed building that was constructed around 1847. The vicarage holds a significant place in literary history as it became the home of Emma Gifford (later Hardy) in 1868. Photographed by Charles Woolf, this snapshot beautifully captures the essence of this historical site. The image transports us back in time and allows us to appreciate both its architectural grandeur and its role within literature. This print is part of a collection curated by Cornish artist Joyce Greenham for Royal Cornwall Museum.
