Airbus A350 XWB wing manufacturing
Airbus A350 XWB wing manufacturing. Engineers working on a component that forms part of the trailing edge of a wing on the new Airbus A350 XWB. This is a redesigned (extra-wide body) version of the A350 passenger jet airliner that is currently being developed and built. It is scheduled to enter operation in 2014. The new technology and materials that are being used in this aircraft include wing structures made of composite materials such as carbon fibre-reinforced polymers. This work is being carried out at GKN Aerospaces Western Approach facility near Bristol, UK, opened in April 2012. Photographed in July 2012
