The name is in Latin form here (Antonius Gobius), and the circular inscription states that he is in his 38th year in 1673, and is from the city of Mantua (now part of Italy, but at times under Austrian and French rule). At bottom is a camel and the Gobio familys Latin motto Dat Labor Annos.
