EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the diverse and awe-inspiring prehistoric wildlife that roamed the earth during the Miocene era. From left to right, we are introduced to a fascinating array of ancient creatures that once inhabited our planet. First, we encounter the Bunolistriodon sp. , a prehistoric pig with its unique features and characteristics. Next in line is the Aceratherium sp. , a hornless rhino displaying its majestic presence. Following closely behind is the Anchitherium sp. , a three-toed horse gracefully captured in this illustration. Moving on, our attention is drawn to the Gomphotherium sp. , an extraordinary four-tusked mastodon showcasing its immense size and power. Alongside it stands a delicate deer from the Procervulus sp. , reminding us of nature's elegance even in prehistoric times. Further along, we come across another rhino species known as Dicerorhinus sp. , distinguished by its two prominent horns. The composition also includes Phylotillon sp. , an intriguing chalicotherid with its distinct appearance and behavior. Lastly, we are introduced to Hemicyon sp. , a primitive ursid that adds an element of mystery to this incredible scene of ancient life. Through this remarkable artwork, Science Photo Library takes us on a journey back in time, allowing us to marvel at these long-extinct creatures and gain insight into their existence within Earth's rich biological history.
