SpaceLiner transport, artwork C016 / 6385

SpaceLiner transport. Artwork of the suborbital, hypersonic passenger transport being studied by the SART (Space Launcher Systems Analysis) group at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR). This design has been studied since 2005. The latest designs are 65 metres long, carrying 50 to 100 passengers and 2 crew. Rocket engines and boosters are used to reach altitudes of 80 kilometres and speeds 20 times that of sound. It would take 90 minutes in gliding sub-orbital flight to reach destinations thousands of kilometres away on the other side of the world. By 2012, several configurations had been designed, with the latest being SpaceLiner 7

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the futuristic concept of the SpaceLiner transport, an artwork created by the SART group at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR). Since its inception in 2005, this suborbital, hypersonic passenger transport has undergone extensive research and development. The latest designs boast a remarkable length of 65 meters and have the capacity to carry up to 100 passengers along with a crew of two. Powered by rocket engines and boosters, this groundbreaking spacecraft can reach altitudes of up to 80 kilometers while achieving speeds twenty times faster than sound. With its cutting-edge technology, it would take a mere 90 minutes for this gliding sub-orbital flyer to traverse thousands of kilometers across our planet's surface. The illustration depicts the awe-inspiring vision of Earth seen from space as passengers embark on their intercontinental journey. Designed with sleek delta wings and propelled by powerful thrust, this technological marvel promises unparalleled travel experiences within Earth's atmosphere. While not intended for commercial use, the SpaceLiner represents a significant advancement in aerospace engineering. Its potential applications range from scientific exploration to rapid transportation between distant locations on our planet. Created by renowned artist Detlev van Ravenswaay, this stunning artwork captures both the imagination and anticipation surrounding humanity's future endeavors into spaceflight and planetary exploration.
