Viking Collection

Viking was a space exploration mission conducted by NASA in the 1970s. It consisted of two unmanned spacecraft, Viking 1 and Viking 2, which were sent to Mars to study its atmosphere and surface. The spacecraft carried a variety of instruments including cameras, spectrometers, seismometers, and other scientific instruments. The mission was successful in providing the first close-up images of Mars' surface as well as data on its atmosphere and geology. Additionally, the mission provided evidence that there may have once been water on Mars' surface. This discovery has led to further exploration of the planet by both robotic probes and human astronauts in search of potential signs of life or resources for future colonization efforts.
