1990 Italy Collection

The 1990 FIFA World Cup was held in Italy and was the first to feature 24 teams. The host nation, Italy, won the tournament after defeating West Germany 1-0 in a dramatic penalty shootout. This was Italy's third World Cup title and their first since 1938. The tournament saw some of the greatest players of all time including Diego Maradona, Lothar Matthaus, and Salvatore Schillaci who scored six goals for Italy. The final match between West Germany and Argentina is remembered as one of the most exciting matches ever played with Maradona scoring both goals for Argentina in a 2-1 victory. Despite this loss, it was an incredible tournament for Italy who will forever be remembered as champions of the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
