Sir John Gardner Engleheart celebrated his 100 birthday on February 2 with a family dinner party at his London residence. 28 Curzon Street Mayfair. Sir John was educated at Rugby under the famous Dr Arnol who revolutionised the English public school system, and like Tom Brown travelled to school on top of a stage coach. He accompanied King Edward as Prince of Wales on his visit to Canada and the United States in 1860 and in 1872 became a clerk to the council of the Duchy of Lancaster of which council he was a member from 1901 until 1912 when he retired
