This picture from the air shows the new Crystal Palace road-racing track, designed as the finest in Britain, is nearing completion in time for the opening of the Coronation season. With straights, curves, hairpin bends, gradients, the circuit runs for 2 miles through the grounds of the Crystal Palace, which was destroyed by fire last year. The road has a minimum width of 30 feet and the surface is claimed to be better than any other racing circuit in the world. On the left of the picture are the illuminated terraces of the old palace. At right are the sports and football ground. Circled by the track are the Canada Building - bottom left - the Australia and New Zealand Buildings (centre). Stretching over 2 miles through the grounds of the recently devastated Crystal Palace, which succumbed to a tragic fire last year, this track boasts impressive features such as straights, curves, hairpin bends, and gradients.
