The Avro Vulcan is a British jet-powered delta wing strategic bomber, which was operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1953 until 1984. The Vulcan was the RAF's first operational jet bomber and was used in both conventional bombing and nuclear strike roles during the Cold War. It had a wingspan of 111 feet, a length of 99 feet, and could reach speeds of up to 645 mph. It could carry up to 21,000 pounds of bombs or nuclear weapons over distances of up to 4,000 miles.
