Trotternish Ridge Light #3
Also referred to as "The Quiraing" or "Cuith-Raing'" is a landslip on the eastern face of Meall na Suiramach, the northernmost summit of the Trotternish or Trondairnis (Scottish Gaelic) on the Isle of Skye, Scotland.
Taken in dramatic December weather, the stormy ephemeral light opens and beams of short lived godrays radiate down over the spiked land formation called The Cleat, Loch Cleat, and Loch Leum na Luirginn below. The highest ridge to the right is called Dun Dubh, and the interesting craggy dinosaur back - shark fin formation on the lower right is called Cnoc a Mheirlich.. Matt Anderson

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this stunning print of Trotternish Ridge Light #3, also known as "The Quiraing" on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, we are transported to a moment of dramatic December weather. The stormy skies part briefly to allow ephemeral light to filter through, casting golden godrays over the rugged landscape below. The Cleat, Loch Cleat, and Loch Leum na Luirginn are illuminated by these fleeting beams of sunlight, creating a breathtaking scene that is both awe-inspiring and majestic.
As our gaze travels across the image, we see the towering ridge of Dun Dubh to the right and the intriguing craggy formation known as Cnoc a Mheirlich in the lower right corner. The landscape is dotted with sheep grazing peacefully amidst this wild and untamed terrain.
This photograph captures not just a moment in time but a feeling of wonder and exploration. It invites us to imagine ourselves hiking along these ancient footpaths, surrounded by the beauty of nature at its most raw and untouched. Matt Anderson has truly captured the essence of this unique place in his work, allowing us to experience its power and majesty from afar.
