Beira Collection

Beira are a species of antelope native to the savannas and woodlands of East Africa. They have a reddish-brown coat with white stripes, and their horns are curved backwards, and are reach up to 1.5 meters in height and weigh up to 90 kilograms, and are herbivorous, eating grasses, shrubs, leaves, fruits, and flowers. Beira live in herds of up to 50 individuals led by an alpha male. During the dry season they migrate long distances in search of food and water sources and are very social animals that communicate through vocalizations such as grunts or snorts when alarmed or threatened by predators such as lions or hyenas. They have become endangered due to habitat loss from human development and poaching for their meat and horns which is used for traditional medicine purposes in some countries.
