In this photograph, taken at St James Park in Newcastle on the 9th of April, 2007, during an FA Premiership match between Arsenal and Newcastle United, the focus is on the enigmatic figure of Alex Hleb. Hleb, a Belarusian international, had only joined Arsenal the previous summer from FC Werder Bremen for a reported fee of £11 million. The image captures a defining moment in the game, with Hleb in full flight, dribbling the ball with his characteristic close control and poise. His eyes are fixed on the horizon, scanning the pitch for an opportunity to create a chance for his teammates. The Newcastle United defense, sensing the danger, close in, but Hleb deftly maneuvers around them, leaving a trail of blue shirts in his wake. The scoreline at this point was 0-0, and the tension in the air was palpable. Arsenal, under the stewardship of Arsène Wenger, were gunning for the title, while Newcastle, under the management of Glenn Roeder, were determined to hold their ground.
