Frederic Chopin Collection

Frederic Chopin was a Polish composer and pianist who is widely considered one of the greatest composers of all time. He was born in Żelazowa Wola, Poland in 1810 and began playing the piano at age four. He wrote over 200 works for solo piano, including preludes, mazurkas, waltzes, nocturnes, polonaises and sonatas. His music is characterized by its lyricism and expressive depth. Chopin also wrote two operas as well as some chamber music and songs. He was an influential figure in 19th century romantic music and his works remain popular today. His influence on other composers such as Debussy has been immense. Chopin died in Paris at the age of 39 due to tuberculosis but his legacy lives on through his timeless compositions that continue to be performed around the world today.
