Ando Hiroshige Collection

Ando Hiroshige (1797-1858) was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist of the Edo period. He is best known for his landscape prints, which depict the scenery of Japan in great detail and vivid colors. His works are considered to be some of the most influential in Japanese art history, and have been widely reproduced and adapted into other forms of art. Hiroshige's landscapes often featured bridges, rivers, mountains, and other natural elements that were important to Japanese culture at the time. He also produced a number of bird-and-flower prints as well as actor portraits. His work has had a lasting influence on modern art movements such as Impressionism and Post-Impressionism.
