This print captures the untold story of Manxman Bob Kewley and his secret racing career, hidden from his disapproving father. In 1965, facing parental disapproval, Bob made a clandestine entry in the Lightweight MGP on this remarkable Greeves motorcycle. Despite having to work a day harvesting job and lacking enough laps to qualify, Bob's determination knew no bounds. He began his day at the crack of dawn, diligently working until practice time arrived. With his friends warming up the bike for him at the start line, he swiftly completed his qualifying lap. However, instead of stopping there, Bob continued on to Signpost Corner where the rest of the field awaited. Leaving his beloved Greeves against a hedge as a temporary resting place, he fearlessly carried out his duties before driving back home in a combine harvester. Little did he know that this daring escapade would eventually reach his father's ears. Upon discovering Bob's secret racing career, parental disapproval reached its peak and he was promptly booted out of their family home. This extraordinary photograph immortalizes an incredible moment in history when passion triumphed over adversity.
