Winston Churchill was a British statesman and politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during World War II. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest wartime leaders in history, having led Britain to victory against Nazi Germany. Born in 1874, Churchill was educated at Harrow and Sandhurst before joining the British Army in 1895. He later entered politics, becoming a Member of Parliament for Oldham in 1900.
