The great airship clash - which lasted from 13 to 22 on September 27 - had other shining episodes. The Italian torpedo bombers, in various squadrons, hurled themselves with cold daring and superb precision of momentum against the English naval formation that had come out of Gibraltar. Overall balance of the battle, three sunken cruisers, a battleship and eight other units hit. Four steamers were then plunged down the following day.
