Es war ein Ereignis, als im Jahre 1783 in Paris zum erstenmal ein mit Gas gefullter Ballon in die Luft stieg, der nach seinen Erfindern, den Brudern Montgolfier, Montgolfiere genannt wurde. Man benutzte den Fesselballon bald zu wissenschaftlichen, hauptsachlich meteorologischen Zwecken. Erst Ende des 19 Jahrh gelang die Erfindung des lenkbaren Flugzeuges und Luftschiffes. Translation: Balloon. It was an event when, in Paris in 1783, a gas-filled balloon called the Montgolfier after its inventors, the Montgolfier brothers, rose into the air for the first time. The captive balloon was soon used for scientific, mainly meteorological purposes. It was not until the end of the 19th century that the steerable airplane and airship were invented.
