A Euphrates-class ship, HMS Crocodile was built originally for the transport of troops and could carry as many as 1,200 soldiers with their families bound mainly for India. She also visited Egypt, Aden and Malta during her service. A double row of portholes extends along the length of the hull and the three masts of her auxilliary barque rig are shown.
