W Nightingall, the well known Epson trainer, is shown with Mr C A McVittie, who trains at Lambourn. Mr Nightingall had 64 horses in training at South Hatch, Epsom, during 1936. His patrons include Lady Houston, Hon D Paget, Mrs C Rich, Mrs F O Bezner, Sir Mathew Wilson, Col F P Halse and Mr G F X Hartigan. It is interesting to note that Mr Nightingall invariably saddles a winner on Saturdays, and the advice "follow Nightingall on this day" is given by many racing folk.
