Translation: Berlin Stock Exchange. The oldest German stock exchange in Hamburg was already important in the 16th century. In the Hanseatic cities, self-employed visitors to the stock exchange only went to the stock exchange in top hats until 1914. Only in the 18th century did brisk stock exchange traffic develop in the inland in Frankfurt am Main, Leipzig and Berlin, which continued to increase in the 19th century and largely influenced economic policy.
