The models for this masterpiece were Jan Vermeyen and Pieter Coecke van Aelst, renowned artists of their time. Measuring an impressive 525x925 cm, this particular replica was manufactured by Real Fabrica de Tapices de Santa Barbara in Madrid between 1731 and 1744. Made from silk and wool fabric, it exudes both elegance and craftsmanship. Originally commissioned by Charles V, the complete set of "The Conquest of Tunis" is not currently on display. However, these two panels are part of a replica cycle commissioned by Philip V that was completed in 1744. They can be admired at the Royal Armoury within Palacio Real in Madrid, Spain.
