Bull Elk (Cervus canadensis) along Madison River, Yellowstone National Park, Montana, Wyoming, USA

The elk, or wapiti (Cervus canadensis), is one of the largest species within the deer family, Cervidae, in the world, and one of the largest land mammals in North America and Eastern Asia. This animal should not be confused with the still larger moose (Alces alces) to which the name elk applies in British English and in reference to populations in Eurasia. Apart from the moose, the only other member of the deer family to rival the elk in size is the south Asian sambar (Rusa unicolor)

EDITORS COMMENTS
This stunning print captures the majestic presence of a Bull Elk along the Madison River in Yellowstone National Park, Montana, Wyoming. The elk, scientifically known as Cervus canadensis, is not only one of the largest species within the deer family but also one of the largest land mammals in North America and Eastern Asia. It's important to note that this magnificent creature should not be mistaken for its larger counterpart, the moose (Alces alces), which is referred to as an elk in British English and Eurasian populations. Only the south Asian sambar (Rusa unicolor) comes close to rivaling the elk's size within the deer family. In this image captured by Danita Delimont from Fine Art Storehouse, we witness nature at its finest. The bull elk lies peacefully on a sunny day amidst breathtaking natural surroundings. With no human presence visible in sight, it allows us to truly appreciate and connect with these incredible animals in their habitat. Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast or simply drawn to mesmerizing outdoor scenes, this horizontal print serves as a reminder of Mother Nature's awe-inspiring beauty. Display it proudly on your wall and let yourself be transported into Yellowstone National Park where wild wonders like this Bull Elk roam freely.
