In 1963, a devastating landslide forced residents to evacuate their homes and seek safety elsewhere. However, fate seemed determined to erase any trace of human presence from this historic place. In 1972, an unforgiving flood worsened the situation even further, leaving behind only remnants of what once stood proudly on these hills. Finally, in 1980, an earthquake dealt the final blow and sealed Craco's fate as a forsaken ghost town.
