Laguna de los Peces (Fish Lagoon) is a lagoon located in the municipality of Galende of the province of Zamora (Castilla y Leon, Spain).Located in the region of Sanabria, is a lagoon mountain glacier that is located at an altitude of 1, 707 m, height requiring him to spend the late fall, winter and early frost spring and surroundings covered of snow. It diverged long, powerful tongues of ice encased in previous river valleys. 10, 000 years ago the ice age ended and the glacier tongue retreated leaving large bare and deep valleys, glacial cirques, fleecy rocks, glacial striations, moraines, lake and more than 20 lakes scattered throughout the mountains.This natural area was declared a natural park in 1978 and in 2015 was declared a transboundary biosphere reserve by UNESCO

As time passed and temperatures rose after approximately 10,000 years ago, glaciers retreated leaving behind deep valleys adorned with glacial cirques, fleecy rocks, striations carved into stone by moving ice masses called moraines. Recognizing its ecological significance and breathtaking landscapes rich with geological history dating back thousands of years; this area was declared a natural park in 1978 before being designated as a transboundary biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 2015.
