PRX11867102 Collection of Ornamental Decorative Strips (print) by Derriey, Charles (1808-77); (add.info.: The plate displays 22 consecutively numbered decorative strips (853-874) under the title "Vignettes" with the specification "Corps 40". Various types of borders are presented, including geometric patterns, hatched lines, wave forms, and ornamental flourishes. Particularly striking are the different printing techniques - from fine line work to grid structures and high-contrast floral ornaments. These decorative elements were used for designing elegant business papers, securities, and high-quality printed works in the style of the French Second Empire. From Spécimen-Album.
