(19th century); Private Collection; (add.info.: The plate shows various microscopic organisms: The monads (Monas termo, now Colpidium colpoda) appear as small spherical unicellular organisms. The undulating microbes (Cercaria undula, now Bodo saltans) are elongated motile flagellates. The cercariae (Cercaria hominis) represent a parasitic larval form that can infect humans. The euglenas (Euglena viridis) are green spindle-shaped unicellular organisms with a red eyespot. The disc-shaped ciliates (Cyclidina glaucoma, now Cyclidium glaucoma) have an oval shape with characteristic cilia.
