Marked Plate 35. Depicts pickets trading for coffee and tobacco between the fortified lines during a truce. the enemys works, protected by abattis and cheveaux-de-frise, are seen in the background, with groups of soldiers on the parapet. The landscape is dominated by left over tree stumps.
