A specimen has been found in the Comoro Islands and brought to Durban, South Africa, by Professor J. L. B. Smith. Rhodes University Ichthyologist. Who calls the find one of the most amazing discoveries ever made i science'. The model shown here ws made from the skin of one caught in 1938. The fish is believed to be the closest relative to a group of fishes that gave rise to land-living vertibrates.
