The car ferry, which crosses the Kyles of Bute from Wemyss Bay, booked eight vehicles at the Spring Bank Holiday in 1953 andby 1955 the figure had risen to 212. The resort provides traditional entertainments such as the Winter Gardens, the Pavilion Ballrooms and Punch and Judy shows on the beach, as well as three cinemas.
