MARY ARDENs HOUSE / PALMERs FARM, Station Road, Wilmcote, Aston Cantlow, Warwickshire. This house was first referred to as Mary Ardens House in 1798. Mary Arden was Shakespeares mother and the house dates from the early 16th century. However, it is now known that this is in fact Palmers Farm, and the red-brick cottage to the south-west is where Mary Arden lived. Both properties are under the care of The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. Photographed by Eric de Mare between 1945 and 1980.
