Framed Print of The Ericofon: the iconic one-piece plastic telephone

The Ericofon: the iconic one-piece plastic telephone. This innovative Swedish design, created by the Ericsson Company and launched in 1956, combined the dial and handset into a single unit. To make a call, you simply lifted it and dialed, to end, you set it down. Renowned for its sleek styling and influence on future telephone designs, the Ericofon is hailed as one of the 20th century's most significant industrial designs. Nicknamed the Cobra telephone for its coiled-snake appearance, it is now a coveted antique. Launched in 1956, the Ericofon emerged during a post-war boom in consumer electronics, reflecting Sweden's leadership in industrial design and technology, influencing global telecommunications. Its futuristic look made it a symbol of mid-20th-century modernity, appearing in films and homes worldwide, and its collectible status today highlights its lasting design legacy. 1969.
