The Beatles performed at the Olympia Theatre Paris, continuing their 18 date residency which began on 16 January 1964 and ended on 4 February. It was in Paris, that they learnt that they were number one in the American charts, which prompted a visit to New York the following week, where they conquered America first appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show.
