Framed Print of Huge crowds gathered in a Walthamstow street when the pantomime cat from Dick Whittington

Huge crowds gathered in a Walthamstow street when the pantomime cat from Dick Whittington at the Palace Theatre, Walthamstow, made an ascent by rope up the front of the theatre. The local traders complained that the crowds obstructed their stalls and prevented Christmas trade being done and the police were called. They spoke to the manager of the theatre and also to the cat played by Miss Desta, who is a stunt girl for American films and also a trapeze artist. She is the smallest cat in the panto business - 3ft. 9ins. high and weighs 5 stone. December 1953 D7638-001. © Mirrorpix
