Jeff Lynne, singer, songwriter and lead singer with The Electric Light Orchestra, pictured with his mother and father, Nancy and Phil Lynne, in the house he bought for them in the midlands. They are surrounded by gold and silver discs to recognise Jeffs record sales and it is between Christmas and New Year when Jeff has made a trip home to see his folks.
Jeff Lynne formed the Electric Light Orchestra (known as ELO) in 1970, taking over sole leadership in 1972, after Roy Wood left. He enjoyed hit songs such as Mr Blue Sky, Wild West Hero, Turn to Stone and Don t Bring Me Down. In the 1980s, Jeff Lynne found further success as a producer and helped form the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. They enjoyed hits such as Handle With Care and End of the Line. He was also a member of The Move in the 1960s.
