Cleaning up... Meltham County Primary School pupils work in the conservation scheme which has won them a £ 200 award from the Nature Conservancy Council. The school is keen to encourage youngsters to take an active part in the environment and has previously won a first prize in the Pride in Huddersfield competition. Conservation work has been done in the grounds since the school opened in 1971 and Class 5, the teacher Mr John Oakley, is working on a wildlife project on which the £ 200 will be spent over the next six months. 21st March 1989. © Mirrorpix
