It is John Harrods second birthday, the sun was shining and his father who is a guard on the London Underground still had a few hours to spare before he returned to work. So he took his little son on to Southwark Bridge to show him the sights.
Mr Harrod is very glad to spend time with his son as he hasn t seen much of him lately. His wife has just recovered from polio and the child had to stay with Mr Harrods mother in the north of the country. 2nd June 1955. © Mirrorpix
