The first blooms of spring steam into London Paddington, onboard the the GWRs West of England and Scilly Isles Flower Special in the dark early hours of a February morning in 1937, destined for Covent Garden Market. Hard to imagine, but before the war there was practically no long-distance road freight transport, everything went by rail. West of England and Scilly Isles Flower Special arriving at Paddington Station in the early hours of the morning. February 1937. © Mirrorpix
