Framed Prints From Memory Lane

Framed Print of Picture shows the Quay Parade of Swansea and on the left the Weaver and Company building

Picture shows the Quay Parade of Swansea and on the left the Weaver and Company building. (now in 2021 this has become a Sainsbury Supermarket)
Standing at six storeys high, 80ft by 40ft by 112ft, with its lower floor cantilevered some 10ft above loading bays, the Weaver and Company Limited building was a flour mill and corn storage facility served by the half-tide basin of the North Dock.
Opened in August 1898, and referred to as the Victoria Flour Mills, the building was designed and built by the French engineer Francois Hennebique in 1897.
It was the first building in Europe which was made from reinforced concrete, or ferro-concrete, a combination of concrete and steel in order to utilise the strengths of each material. (words from https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/story-swanseas-indestructible-concrete-eyesore-15682459)
