A full size replica of George Stephensons famous locomotive Rocket and her tender arrived in London on 22nd August 1979 where it will run on a length of track opposite the Royal Albert Hall, over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The replica has been built at Gateshead for the Science Museum by Locomotion Enterprises, in connection with the 150th anniversary of the famous Rainhill trials when tests on the Rocket beat all other contenders for a working locomotive. © Mirrorpix
