Framed Print of The Coronation, LNER poster, 1937-1939

Poster produced for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER), promoting the Coronation, shown here hauled by the A4 steam locomotive Dominion of Canada. Built in 1937 in celebration of the coronation of George VI (1895-1952) the train served the route between Kings Cross, London and Edinburgh, and could run at consistently high speeds over long distances. Both locomotive and train were designed by Sir Nigel Gresley (1876-1941), pioneer of the streamlined A4 locomotive. National Railway Museum is the home of iconic locomotives. Our historic prints reflect the age and quality of the original artwork we hold to preserve their artistic character, including authentic colour reproduction, marks and creases. © Please read our licence terms.
