This small tropical spider has strong hind legs and can jump up to fifty times its own body length. It hunts its prey rather than catching it in a web. Its excellent vision allows it to spot the prey from a distance. It then creeps up and pounces by jumping, whilst trailing a safety line of silk behind it. Magnification: x20 at 6x7cm size.
