Framed Print of His First Offence

This painting by the English artist Lady Stanley (Dorothy Tennant) is titled His First Offence, and was exhibited in the New Gallery in London in 1896. Sir Henry Tate admired it there and bought it. It now hangs in London's tate Gallery. It shows a small boy brought up before the magistrate. He faces the spectator, and Stanley portrays him as a little rascal with a sharp, shifty expression. Universal Images Group (UIG) manages distribution for many leading specialist agencies worldwide.
